The Journey So Far

Language is a vital tool for communication. It is not only a means of communicating thoughts and ideas, but it builds friendships, economic relationships and cultural ties. English is universally considered the Global Lingua Franca. With the world continuously morphing into what has been described as a ‘Global Village’, there is little doubt about the importance of English in today’s world.

The ESaT journey started in Malta in 2012 with a very specific scope: to help the diffusion of the English language and in this way assist individuals and organisations to grow professionally and be better equipped for the challenges posed by a changing and more global economy.

The people at ESaT set out to develop course programmes and assessment suites that reflect modern needs, focusing on the language necessary to help students become independent users of the language in the shortest time possible.

A more globalized economy brought with it new challenges: distance learning and technology-assisted learning. These new approaches facilitate the delivery of quality courses to a hitherto- untapped section of the population which was either not interested in traditional forms of teaching, or which simply did not have the time to attend conventional language courses.

All these needs and trends were constantly at the heart of all the projects developed by ESaT. The products were trialed internationally to ensure that they really met the needs of the international market.
